As we discussed in the article “What is a wallet and how to keep it safe”, a wallet address is a long string of numbers and letters designed to be read by computers; it is the result of the encryption of the public key, which in turn is encrypted starting from a private key, which is a 256-bit number.
The Foundation for Interwallet Operability (FIO) Crypto Handles are instead human-readable wallet identifiers like "alice@eidoo" that replace traditional, long-string public wallet addresses. One can connect the addresses of any blockchain to their FIO domain. Then, it is possible to send crypto directly to the FIO domain, which will automatically direct the transfer to the corresponding wallet.
To send tokens to a FIO domain from Eidoo, start by selecting the asset you want to send, then tap on the arrow pointing right and type the FIO domain in the search bar and confirm the transaction.
